BayStars’ Austin out with finger injury
The DeNA BayStars deactivated outfielder Tyler Austin on Monday after he was scratched from the game lineup for the team’s games on Saturday and Sunday against the Hanshin Tigers at Koshien Stadium.
The 28-year-old Austin reported pain and discomfort in his right index finger on Friday according to the Hochi Shimbun. In 17 games this season, Austin who began mashing in the spring and has not stopped, has a .403 on-base percentage and a .618 slugging average.
The BayStars start a three-day series against the Chunichi Dragons at Nagoya Dome on Tuesday.
