Japan Series Game 5 was played at Koshien Stadium Thursday, with the series tied 2-2 after Hanshin’s 4-3 walk-off win Wednesday.

Tigers 6, Buffaloes 2: At Koshien Stadium, Orix’s bullpen spoiled a Koshien feel-good story for Daiki Tajima, who left with a 2-0 lead in the eighth with Masato Morishita making up for a poor game with a come-from-behind two-run triple off rookie Yuki Udagawa.
The series moved out of Osaka Tuesday to neighboring Hyogo Prefecture, and Hanshin’s iconic Koshien Stadium after each team scored an 8-0 victory at Osaka UFO Dome.

Tigers Buffaloes : At Koshien Stadium, rookie Kohei Azuma allowed a run on five hits and a walk over five innings to improve to 8-0 in his major league career, and Orix’s “Elmore Leonard 3:10 to Yuma” gang, Yuma Tongu and Yuma Tongu, helped put four runs on the board as the Buffaloes took a 2-1 series lead after some scary work from two of Orix’s four relief pitchers.
