NPB Wrap 11-20-21

The Japan Series opened and just when all the breaks were going the Yakult Swallows’ way and they were headed for a 3-1 win in the ninth, they suddenly weren’t.

On a sub-par night from Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the Swallows’ bullpen allowed seven runners while getting just three outs, and the Orix Buffaloes extended the PL’s home series win streak to 20 games, and the PL’s series win streak to 13.

NPB wrap 10-10-21

Sunday’s games brought us some weirdness and ended with a night game between the skilled professionals of the Central League’s top two teams in which 25 runners were left on base. It was the baseball version of an Olympic gold medal wrestling match being held in a mud pit.

A request for change

Lotte Marines manager Tadahito Iguchi said he would file an opinion paper questioning the efficacy of Japan’s replay review “Request System”.
