Pacific League TV is a subscription streaming service that gives you access to all the games played by Nippon Professional Baseball’s six-team Pacific League.
I’m posting this here because Nippon Professional Baseball’s other top-flight league, the Central League, has avoided participating in joint marketing efforts, so there is no easy way to watch their games.
The service is in Japanese only and is billable on a monthly basis. A one-day option is also available.
Here is a ridiculously brief history of the PL, from its inception as a seven-team league in 1950 to its dynasties.
To sign up, go to the home page: https://tv.pacificleague.jp/ptv/pc/
… and click the red button at the top of the page with “利用登録” in white lettering. They’ve now added an orange button toward the bottom that goes to the same registration page.
There are three basic plans: An monthly subscription (950 yen for registered members of a Pacific League team’s fan club and 1,450 yen for everyone else). A 1,450 interleague package (not sold in 2020 since interleague was canceled), and a 600-yen “One day ticket.” The monthly subscriptions are renewed until you cancel.
At the bottom of the registration page, you’ll find their three basic plans in a table. Click the red button on the right-hand column corresponding to the one that interests you — again the interleague plan is dimmed so you only have the monthly subscription on the top and the one-day viewing option on the bottom.
Billing is through Yahoo Wallet or Rakuten Pay in Japan, or credit card.
