The Chunichi Dragons scored a week’s worth of runs on Friday, when only the three Central League teams played.
Friday’s games:
BayStars 5, Swallows 2: At Yokohama Stadium, Koki Kajiwara tied the game with a two-run third-inning home run, and catcher Yudai Yamamoto broke the tie with a sixth-inning solo shot as DeNA came from behind to beat Yakult. Rookie Yutaro Ishida (4-0) allowed two runs on four hits but no walks over seven innings, while Hirotoshi Takanashi (0-1) allowed three runs over six innings in his first start of the season.
Dragons 9, Giants 2: At Nagoya Dome, Seiya Hosokawa hit a three-run bomb and Takuya Kinoshita hit a two-run jack in the Dragons’ five-run first inning off rookie lefty Teppei Mataki (0-1). Takaya Ishikawa went 3-for-5 with a double and two runs for Chunichi. Dragons lefty Shinnosuke Ogasawara (5-8) allowed two runs on 10 hits but no walks over eight innings.
Carp 6, Tigers 3: At Osaka UFO Dome, Shogo Sakakura went 5-for-5, while Shogo Akiyama and Masaya Yano each had three hits and scored twice as the CL-leading Carp bounced back from their first loss in a week, scoring four runs, three earned, off Shoki Murakami (5-8), while Shohei Mori (1-0) allowed an unearned run over five innings in his season debut.
