He reached base four times in Tuesday’s 7-2 win and tied it Wednesday with a two-run eighth-inning homer off Trevor Bauer before walking it off with a ninth-inning sacrifice fly.

Swallows 8, Dragons 5: At Jingu Stadium, Chunichi took a 5-4 sixth-inning lead in a game that looked like a mirror of Yakult’s first half, lots of runs allowed, some runs scored and a deficit for the Swallows. In the home half, the game morphed into a flashback of 2023, as Munetaka Murakami crushed a Daisuke Sobue fastball (3-5) for a three-run homer, Murakami’s 13th, and demolished a lazy slider for his 14th home run in the eighth. Kazuto Taguchi then recorded his 20th save.

Chunichi’s Takaya Ishikawa hit his 9th home run, and his third in two games.
